Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was at 1:30 this afternoon. We were called minutes after our appointment time.
My husband (Beneficiary) and I were sworn in. She asked for both of our passports and husbands original birth certificate. He had his photos and fingerprints taken.
The interviewer went through all of the yes/no questions in the I485 application with my husband.
She asked:
his date of arrival in US
my birthday
date of wedding
where was wedding
was the wedding big or small
she asked if we had a honeymoon
She asked if we had additional documents to provide - we provided wedding photos, joint savings account, documents showing he is the beneficiary on my 401k and personal savings account, internet bill, emails with both of us and his parents regarding their travel to LA for our wedding, invoices and emails from vendors regarding wedding
She said she had everything and asked us to step out for 10-15 minutes. She came... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was for 11:00 AM and we arrived about 45 minutes early since other reviews have stated that the line to get into the building could potentially be long. It took us about 10 minutes to clear security and proceed to the Eight floor. We checked in and waited for about 45 minutes in the spacious waiting room before my wife's name was called.

We followed the officer to his office and were sworn in. My wife then took a photo and some fingerprints. He then started to ask her some questions. He asked basic questions like her name, birth certificate, her parents' names, her birthday, our address and her phone number. He then proceeded to go through the yes/no questions from the I-485 form. I believe he asked all of the questions from that section of the I-485 form. He also asked about how she entered the country and asked for her medical info. My wife had submitted it at the point of entry but she showed him her own personal copies.

He then asked m... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Interview is scheduled for 11:30am. We ended up parking at Weller Court Shopping Center for $10/full day. We arrived in DTLA before 10am. Since the previous reviews says that lines can be long, we tried to come in earlier. We had coffee at the nearby starbucks and decided to walk in to the Federal bldg around 1040ish. First security asked if we were coming in for an interview and asked to look at our appointment letter. He then directed us to another line/door which I’m guessing is specifically used by USCIS. There is only one person ahead of us so we were in and out of security within 2 mins. We were able to check-in at window 1 of room 8024 at around 10:53am. Everyone seems nice. The waiting room is full of other applicants for AOS marriage based and citizenship. I am not sure if it was just my nerves or if the waiting room is indeed stuffy. There is a play area for kids. We waited patiently for them to call my name. 11:30 passed and as almost everyone is called we continue to... read complete review
